Former Tennessee receiver says he'll play for Louisville

Former University of Tennessee wide receiver Montrell Jones said in a radio interview that he plans to attend the University of Louisville next season as he works to restart his football career.
The Louisville Courier-Journal reported that Jones told Louisville's WHAS radio in a taped interview that he has chosen the Cardinals over Western Kentucky. After sitting out this season because of NCAA transfer rules, he'll be eligible to play for U of L in 2004 and will have two years of eligibility.

The 6-foot-2 200-pounder was Kentucky's Mr. Football as a senior in 2000, when he led Male High School to the Class 4-A championship. He was among the most sought-after recruits in the nation after setting state high school records for career touchdowns (59) and receptions (266).

As a freshman at Tennessee, he was fourth on the team with 22 catches for 306 yards but ran into some trouble. He was suspended for one game for an undisclosed violation of team rules, was arrested in Louisville for possession of marijuana and was kicked off the team in April by coach Phillip Fulmer.
