East Tennessee Cocaine Investigation Nets 43 Quarts of Moonshine

KINGSPORT, Tennessee -- A cocaine investigation in Kingsport, Tennessee led to 43 quarts of moonshine.

Tennessee police chief Gale Osborne said investigators found a single quart of the illegal drink a few weeks ago.

But he says finding large quantities of moonshine in the city has been rare for several decades.

Tennessee police investigated after receiving many complaints about possible drug activity.

Undercover Tennessee officers purchased crack cocaine in amounts ranging from $20 to several hundred dollars.

Tennessee police arrested 22-year-old Alicia Hill and charged her with possession of untaxed liquor, possession of marijuana and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Five men were arrested on cocaine charges, and Tennessee police are looking for nine other suspects.
