Anderson County, Tennessee charges woman in first meth lab bust of new yearAnderson County, Tennessee authorities said they busted their first methamphetamine lab of 2004 over the weekend at a house on Offutt Road in Clinton.
The raid took place just after 11:10 p.m. Friday, with the Anderson County, Tennessee Sheriff's Office, the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Lake City Police Department arresting a 32-year-old woman, according to a sheriff's office press release.
Officers allegedly found numerous meth lab components in a garage apartment behind the house that had been rented by Tammy Jeanette Dyle, the release said.
"Deputies located chemicals characteristic with this method of manufacturing methamphetamine including a 30-gallon tank of anhydrous ammonia, muriatic acid, Coleman fuel, pseudoephedrine pills, aluminum foil, coffee filters, silver tape and lithium batteries," the release stated.
The officers also allegedly found "police scanners, two-way radios, night vision equipment and a stun gun," according to the release.
Dyle was charged with illegal manufacturing/delivery/sale of a controlled substance, possession of Schedule II drugs, possession of anhydrous ammonia and possession of drug paraphernalia. No charges were filed against the property owner.
A hazardous materials team from Johnson City and an Anderson County, Tennessee-based meth response truck were dispatched to the scene, but "response time was reduced because both teams were in Campbell County completing cleanup of another lab," the release said.
Like many East Tennessee communities, Anderson County, Tennessee has been wrestling with a sharp rise in both the use of and production of meth, a powerful stimulant made from over-the-counter drugs. Last year, deputies busted 52 alleged meth labs and made more than 60 arrests in the county. Drug Rehab by County
